What is Acne?

In order to understand the cause of acne it is important to learn how acne is formed. The are parts of the body where the skin contain large amounts of oil glands. These areas include the face (especially the forehead and cheeks) the chest and back. Acne is a skin condition usually due to the overproduction of these oil glands and blockage of the oil ducts. This can sometimes trap oil and bacteria leading to flareup, redness and raised lumps on the skin known acne. Acne is most common in teenagers when the body is developing most rapidly.
